Life Has Been Crazy

My cosmotology program started a couple of weeks ago.  School is 5 hrs every evening (5:45-10:45).  It's fun, I'm learning stuff, the hours are kind of kicking my butt.

G spent the week from the 17th to the 23rd up in Ventura with friends enjoying the very last week of his summer vacation.  Now he is back in a new school for 5th grade.  Luckily there are a few friends that also are going to the new school from his old school that closed last year, so he is not starting from scratch.  The jump in workload from 4th to 5th looks like it is going to be pretty big, but hopefully he will be up for the challenge.

Last weekend was my Dave Matthews Band concert.  I can't tell you how much I love their music.  We saw them at Cricket Ampitheatre which I think used to be Coors in SD (I can't keep up).  I have to be honest.  We left probably half way through the show.  We were surrounded by drunk kids.  We had lawn tickets and as they would try to walk around they would trip over you, step on you.  Hell one girl actually rolled over me and fell down the hill a bit.  We decided that was no fun and decided to leave.  Instead of staying at a hotel we had set up our tent at a really nice camp ground and had fun sleeping under the stars.

This weekend we are going to Norco to see a Grateful Dead Tribute band, which should be pretty interesting.

Peace

100_0415This weekend I was in Santa Barbara having coffee at the Paseo Neuvo mall when this gentleman walked by.  I grabbed my camera as quickly as I could.  Hopefully, you can see everything in this photo.

He is walking his dog who is carrying a cat, who is carrying a rat.

Now, if these three animals can get along so well, don't you think we more evolved beings could figure out how to stop killing each other and learn to love the differences in our cultures?

Is It Chilly In Here

My car is my mom's former car.  I got it a few years ago, and since the day I picked it up it had this horrible noise / vibration when you would turn the fan up high (whether AC or heat).

At one point I took it to H0nda to have it looked out and the service guy told me they would have to drop the engine out to take a look in there and see what was going on and the pricing would start out at $arm and move on to $arm and leg.  So basically I have just lived with it.

RH0nda the H0nda is unbearably hot during the summers (black car, leather interior = burn yourself on something) and chilly in the winters.

Tuesday RH0nda went to prison with R to get checked out by the boys and low and behold someone climbs under the car and cleans out a giant mess of leaves.  LEAVES!!!!!   GODDAMN F'N LEAVES PEOPLE!  I've been sweating my ass off for years because someone parked under the shedding tree from hell.

Other than getting all the landscaping out of the engine compartment nothing was done, and the fan works lovely now.  You can turn it up all the way and the dashboard doesn't vibrate like everything is going to fall apart.  All you hear is a lovely humming sound and it feels so nice and cool in the car.

What I want

You know you are burnt out when you start daydreaming about being terminated, so that you can enjoy a few weeks of sitting at home drawing unemployment, with no one to answer to, and the time to sleep in late and work on fiddly projects around the house.

There seems to be no light at the tunnel, and it's not just me.  With all the recent upheaval at work, there are quite a few of us feeling this way.  It's gotten beyond the bitchy and snippy stage, and nose dived headlong into "whatever, I don't care" territory.  It's not pretty.  The only thing any of us laugh at is how ridiculously behind we are.

I'm sorry, you want what, when?  hahahahahahahaahahahahahaha

Out of Jail ~ Practically Free

100_0332My car is all finished and put back together so lovely.  It's true.  You would never guess that a few days ago it looked car bombed!

Pretty, pretty and rolling so nice!

What the hell is wrong with my life?

I have a blister on my 4th toe.  It looks like it's from my pinky toe rubbing against it.  It's not like my pinky toe has not been there for the last 34 years.  How is this even possible.

AAAAAAAAaaaaa Meh Wheelz!

100_0330This is a picture of the inside of my cars door.  I took it while I was waiting at a stop light.

Monday the car went to prison w/ R to get a new timing belt put in.  While there they checked out my two wonky windows.  However, the parts for the windows had to be ordered, so they left my doors torn apart.

The front driver side door (which is the one in the pic) doesn't even have the glass in anymore, which is probably good since you can't use the lever and have to open the door using the outside handle!
How very ghetto.

What is worse is it was supposed to be all put together tomorrow, but the prison is in lockdown tomorrow due to a CO's funeral.  So it won't be put back together till Friday.

My car makes me very sad, because normally it sits pretty and now it looks like a bomb hit the inside.  But this weekend it should be shiny and new again (with all four windows rolling up and down properly).

In addition we are still out less than than $200 total in parts (timing belt and window parts) for something that would have cost us close to $3000 total at Honda.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Work has been hellacious this month.  To top it off I'm no longer working at home, but working in our new yard out in this area.  It's been a tough transition, not to mention all the new/extra work that has been piled on.

The only thing keeping me going is knowing that next friday we are leaving for our Mexican cruise.  I don't think I've ever looked forward to a vacation more than I am this one!

I also found out last week that I won the lottery to get into the cosmetology program at the local community college.  I'm sure I'll be the oldest person in the class, but I think it's going to be great fun learning to do all those girly things like hair, makeup and skincare!

G is out of school, and looking forward to spending a couple of weeks at his Dad's house.  Once he gets back I'm going to need to find him some day camps to go to, and keep him entertained!

My (too short) visit with Mom was great, I only wish I could have spent more time with her.  I'm looking forward to a fall visit (hopefully over labor day weekend).

Happy Birthday To Me!

For my upcoming bday R has gotten me tickets to see DMB later this summer!
