Saturday's Black Crowes concert was awesome!!!!
Easily the best show I've been to in ages. I could seriously be this band's deadhead. The boys played about 2 hours straight, no opening band, and one (way too short) encore.
Mom posted a great mash up with the Beatles and NIN, and it reminded me of one of my favourite NIN mash ups, so I wanted to post it. Luckily I was able to find one on that didn't require me to post an NC17 rating. :)
The horizon pales
when she hits the ground
sirens and scaffolds
all coming down
under the weight of heaven
if only devotion
could rise on a word
then you could stumble
never be hurt
you could let go
Breaking your fall
Breaking your fall
The pilots of pleasure
your weatherman
never could push you
far as I can
they just let you fall
while buildings and bridges
just crash and burn
it's only a cloudbank
bursting in turn
they were made to come down
Breaking your fall
Breaking your fall
Fault lines and failures
angels and all
follow her footholds
breaking her fall
it's alchemical
I couldn't find Chris Whitley performing his song on You Tube, I did find a guy doing a cover that isn't half bad, but you owe it to yourself to hear the original.
When the hour is upon us
And our beauty surely gone
No you will not be forgotten
And you will not be alone
No you will not be alone
And when the day has all but ended
And our echo starts to fade
No you will not be alone then
And you will not be afraid
No you will not be afraid
When the fog has finally lifted
From my cold and tired brow
No I will not leave you crying
No I will not let you down
No I will not let you down
I will not let you down
Now comes the night
Feel it fading away
And the soul underneath
Is it all that remains
So just slide over here
Leave your fear in the fray
Let us hold to each other
'Til the end of our days
When the hour is upon us
And our beauty surely gone
No you will not be forgotten
And you will not be alone
No you will not be alone
(Rob Thomas lyrics)
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
R and I are off in a few for the Toby Keith concert tonight.
One of the great guys at work gave us tickets when I left the main office.
Talk about lucky!
