Going Home Again
We are rocking and rolling! This felt like it lasted a whole minute. You got a mild shake, then it worked itself up into a big rocker and then slowed down. What's funny is my family always jokes that we can hear them before we feel them, but this one you felt before you heard anything!

Little miss got a new toy for when she visits us. She's not quite sure what to do with it yet though.
For the last month R & I, along with a group of others have taken on a Carbon Diet, to try and reduce our household carbon emissions by at least 5K lbs per year.
We are using the Low Carbon Diet manual to walk us through many of the steps and we meet every couple of weeks to check in with each other.
I'm pleased to report that after our initial changes (Finish out the CFL's, replace the shower heads with low-flows, recycle more, tune up cars, etc) we are already down 5,040 lbs. Let me tell you guys, we haven't even come close to making some of the harder choices, or more costly repairs yet, so I'm here to say that it really is the little things that will add up and make a difference.
What have you done lately to reduce your carbon footprint?
If you now me at all, you know that, Dorian, my first son died of a very rare brain tumour.
We spent many days and nights at Children's Hospital, for diagnosis, surgery, check ups. CHLA has an amazing staff, everyone from the doctors, to nurses and orderlies care deeply about their patients, and making their lives and health better.
In our case, they did everything possible to make Dorian's last weeks comfortable, so that we could enjoy our last days together to the best of our abilities.
So I'm asking today, that if you can, if you would donate to this wonderful, wonderful hospital, that gives so many families hope and comfort during their darkest days.
Thank you.
